"Kelly is the perfect mix of knowledge and compassion. She always shows a willingness to learn and will go the extra measure to meet all the needs of her patients. I recently watched her care for an elderly couple that were both going to be hospitalized in separate hospitals. She moved her patients, beds, belongings, monitor, equipment and all, into the husband's room so they could hold hands and be near each other before they were moved to their individual locations. This shows just how much heart she puts into her care, treating a whole person and whole family." "I had my father in the Emergency Room at CC Union Hospital. He had been in severe pain. On arriving, the nursing staff went into nursing mode immediately. Once things started, his nurse Kelly was HIS nurse for the day. I cannot put into words the compassion and love that was shown to my dad and I. She was in to check on him quite often and, at one point, he asked for scrambled eggs for one IV and sausage for the other which made the whole ER staff laugh. The nominee took it upon herself to order breakfast for my dad and myself from the local Bob Evans to be delivered. I have NEVER had such excellent and loving care in the ER before, and with mom and dad over the years, it has been quite a few times! Kelly joked with dad which helped him so very much with all of the pain. Her gentle ways and loving spirit made it bearable.
