14 times, she fluffed my pillows, the sheets, and me. 14 times, she smiled every time I rang the call light and never stopped smiling until she left my floor.
I was discharged from Kaiser Mo Val after I spent 12 days in the hospital for nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea caused by chemotherapy. I was up vomiting and with diarrhea every few hours. My potassium levels were around 2.4 most days. I was exhausted, nauseous, weak, and just a plain mess. The entire staff made me feel like the most important person in the world. Rose, however, had the misfortune to take care of me on my last night there. That night I had to get up 14 times to go to the bathroom. 14 times Rose got up with me to help wipe me and clean myself after each time. 14 times, she fluffed my pillows, the sheets, and me. 14 times, she smiled every time I rang the call light and never stopped smiling until she left my floor. All my nurses, aides, EVS, dietary, were phenomenal and I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. But I want Rose to know I will never forget her.
