She was so sweet and excited for us! She was loving my new addition to my family just as much as me. She helped me with breastfeeding, helped me not feel like a failure for having latch issues, and helped me learn how to be a mom.
I had to have a c-section, which was already a pretty traumatic thing for me (first-ever surgery). Kelsey was my nurse during the night, and she was amazing. She went above and beyond, grabbing me snacks, helping me change and changing my sheets without a single complaint. Kelsey was keeping me comfortable, keeping my husband comfortable, and keeping my newborn infant alive. She was so sweet and excited for us! The daytime nurse had told me "It's been three days. You shouldn't need pain medicine other than Tylenol," when I asked for stronger medication after an almost near fall. After being cut open and almost falling, boy, was I sore. And I understand that's the goal, but she made me feel like I was abusing pain medicine or being a ninny. Kelsey not only gave me the medicine without any issue, she would say, "You just had major abdominal surgery. Everything below the belly button hurts. It's okay to need help. You won't need anything in a week. Just remember, it's only one more week." She was compassionate, understanding, and supportive. Definitely went above and beyond.
I told myself I would never have children again after my complicated pregnancy, but if Kelsey was my nurse, I'd have 2 more. She made the entire difference to my anxiety-ridden stay, and I would've honestly not been so afraid if I knew a woman like her was going to be taking care of me.
