Lynette Villanueva was my nurse during a particularly low point in my life. I was experiencing opioid-induced constipation and impaction. It was very stressful and painful. I was looking for relief. Lynette offered suggestions and a variety of solutions. Her knowledge was invaluable, and so was how she took her time to explain what was happening to me. We tried a few different things and did not get the desired result. I was not happy. Her cheerful attitude and smiling face were important while I was going through this process. She even cracked jokes that made me laugh when I wanted to cry. Finally, the pain became so bad. I did what I did not want to do: remove the impaction manually. Yikes! At 9:00 pm, I was given pain medication. She left, fulfilled her duties with other patients, and gave the pain medicine time to work. She came back an hour later and began. It was so painful that I cried. Lynette offered comforting words and gentle pats. Her soft voice and calm manner were very soothing during this difficult process. When the pain became too intense, she would leave the room to give me time to recover. She was so patient and determined. Lynette was able to take care of me and give me a break to let me recover. She then took care of other patients while I was recovering. I will never know how she was able to juggle all those responsibilities. Finally, at 1:40 a.m., the relief I sought for weeks came thanks to Lynette. Her dedication to solving my problem was such a blessing to me. She endured to the end! Lynette is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, kind, funny, and just plain fabulous! Thank you, Lynette. I will never forget all you did to help me.
