She is a calming, confident, and reassuring person who truly listens to us and never dismisses even the smallest question or concern.
My mom passed in January of 2022, and she was in the hospital for almost 6 months. In that time, we met and were cared for by many kind, hardworking nurses. Now, my dad is in the hospital, and we’ve met so many more. However, none have gone as above and beyond as our nurse, Lisa. From acts as small as bringing drinks to something as impactful as talking my dad down from a panic attack (while still giving him the meds he needs, of course). She is a calming, confident, and reassuring person who truly listens to us and never dismisses even the smallest question or concern. She gave my dad the confidence and strength he needed to get through tough nights. Always with a smile on her face! She went the extra mile to help him feel comfortable and at ease in an environment that is obviously not always conducive to relaxation and calm. My dad, in his own words, said he truly felt his panic and anxiety subside when she talked him through it. I believe her care went beyond the science and medicine and was truly mentally soothing for him. He said she made him feel like he was in a hotel room, not a hospital. From dimming the lights to setting up his bed, putting the TV on a relaxing channel, and simply making him feel at ease. She even went downstairs to get him food when he forgot to order dinner. I witnessed his panic attack and although he got the medication after, the moment we notified her, her quick reaction and calm demeanor helped quell the anxiety. Lisa deserves this for her outstanding care and service. We will always remember her kindness!
