This RN is known by so many to care for families in the family meeting room. She enters the room with understanding and shows real empathy for the hurting members of that family.
I want to submit an incredible nurse who works with inpatient oncology. I am employed here and notice this same nurse serving and loving on patients who are very ill and need support. This nurse has been on the front lines of the worst cases you can imagine. Few nurses would tread where she goes to help a broken family and a hurting patient.
In my experience over the last 8 years, this RN has proven time and time again to be compassionate and caring beyond the normal expectation of duty. She often stays til 10 PM and worked 15 hrs. to make sure a patient has their needs met before she exits for home. I am a witness to her hard work and dedication to love on the most hurting patients in our hospital.
This RN is known by so many to care for families in the family meeting room. She enters the room with understanding and shows real empathy for the hurting members of that family. When a death occurs with one of her patients, she is aware to notify pastoral care and involve others to support the family. For many years, she has labored here unselfishly and humbly, working for others even when she is exhausted and does not feel like staying over 4 more hrs. because the unit is short-staffed. She is exemplary every day.
