On my bad days, I knew everything was going to be okay in the end because she stuck with me every step of the way.
Where do I even start?

As soon as I met this person, I knew I would love her. I have had a few recent stays in the hospital. The first stay was longer, and I had her for 8 days, so we got to know each other well. I was only home for a short time and had to come back to the hospital. When she found out I was here, she came by to say hi.

She is a one-of-a-kind nurse, and every person would be so lucky to have her take care of them. Besides being an incredible nurse, she’s an even better person. She’s kind, loving, and a very outgoing person. She will do anything in her power to make sure her patients are okay and comfortable. She would just come into my room to check on me just to make sure I was okay, and we would joke and laugh. This hospital and her colleagues are lucky to have her. I was even luckier in meeting her and being under her care. She’s the most inspiring nurse I’ve ever had, and that is saying a lot because I have probably had over one hundred different nurses take care of me.

Being a 19-year-old with many health issues in the last 17 months, I can tell you that having a very good nurse makes a huge difference in your stay. It really matters. Being a kid scared of every little thing that may happen, this person would always reassure me everything was going to be okay.

On my bad days, I knew everything was going to be okay in the end because she stuck with me every step of the way. I was having a very hard time controlling my pain after surgery, and this nurse talked me through the pain and, most importantly, advocated for me. When my pain was high, and I wasn’t due for my pain medicine, she told me some funny stories and just overall helped me get through the worst pain.

Unfortunately, I had to spend my birthday in the hospital, and she brought me flowers and M&Ms, and that brought a smile to my face. I’m so grateful for everything she has done for me.

This nurse probably has no idea of the impact she has had on me over the last few months but she’s truly amazing. No one is more deserving than she is for this DAISY Award - Thank you!
