I had this nurse for two days and she was absolutely amazing. I ended up having an emergency c-section, and it seemed like everything was just right after the next. We were one sugar test away from our sweet girl going to the NICU, and this nurse made sure we were able to get her sugars where they needed to be. She went above and beyond to keep us in the loop and show us that she wanted us to stay together and be able to go home to the rest of our family. I remember we got our last sugar for her to pass, and she went out to the hall and told the other nurses that we were in the clear. You could hear all the nurses cheering in the hall. It was absolutely amazing to hear and also to know that you have that kind of support for your recovery after a hard, unexpected delivery, which is something I will never forget. It takes such a special person to work in that unit and show the kind of care and support that she did. It’s hard to think that she wasn’t an angel on earth for me during this hard time. I am beyond grateful for the care at Northbay and will be praising my nurses for a very long time.
