I don’t believe our family would have coped without Denise’s constant support. She is so compassionate, thoughtful, well informed, and always reachable to answer questions or just talk about how everyone is coping.
I would like to nominate Denise Wilson from the Integrated Discharge Team (IDT) for a DAISY Award.

My sister has been an inpatient at the Royal Hobart Hospital for the last 5 months. Her situation has been extremely complex for a number of reasons including her medical condition and plan for care after discharge.

During this time Denise has been our family’s saviour in so many ways. She has worked tirelessly on not only discharge planning but assisting our family with arranging and participating in countless meetings with medical and nursing teams as well as outside agencies such as NDIS.

The last 5 months have been extremely stressful and heartbreaking in regard to my sister’s condition. I don’t believe our family would have coped without Denise’s constant support. She is so compassionate, thoughtful, well informed, and always reachable to answer questions or just talk about how everyone is coping.

Denise has built a wonderful rapport with my sister, as she has done with all of her family members. I believe she has gone above and beyond her duties as an IDT team member.

In my 44 year nursing career I have met a number of exceptional nurses and consider Denise to be one of the best.

Nominating Denise for The DAISY Award is one way my family can show our appreciation for all the wonderful work Denise has done and continues to do.
