When I was admitted, nobody asked me what was the most important thing to me. The day I had Toby and he asked me that question. I said crochet, but I forgot my crochet hook. I have my yarn and Toby went on his break to the gift shop, but they didn't have any. About an hour later, he came to my room to introduce me to his son. He had called his son to buy a hook and bring it to me. He not only bought it, but it was a package of 6, all different sizes. My brother was visiting me and tried to pay him back, but he insisted on not accepting any money in return. This kind gesture made my day and kept me busy and made the long hours and days go by so quickly. Not many nurses go out of their way to make a patient feel good about being in the boring, sometimes painful hospital. Toby also came to make sure I was taken care of after they had to call for the crash cart.
