A few of the outstanding behaviors that readily come to mind are her reassuring manner, full of grace and good humor, efficiency, and nursing knowledge. Michelle never failed to provide appropriate comfort and care for my well-being.
I was recently a patient in the Levinson Cardiac Center with double bypass surgery. Just before I was transferred to the last Cardiac Unit, a nurse recommended that I request another nurse there also named Michelle. What a great endorsement she gave to Michelle Reierson, RN in that Cardiac Unit.
Upon being transferred, Michelle Reierson, my night shift nurse, was assigned for my care. Michelle turned out to be a fantastic nurse and one which I shall never forget. The care, attention, and support I received from Michelle Reierson were superlative in every respect. A few of the outstanding behaviors that readily come to mind are her reassuring manner, full of grace and good humor, efficiency, and nursing knowledge. She never failed to provide appropriate comfort and care for my well-being.
I soon learned that she was a "go-to" nurse to her peers on her shift. One time she was called to another cardiac unit in order to provide more skilled support to a patient needing suture or similar removal. This request she willingly and gracefully accepted. Obviously, Michelle has the skill sets that other nurses rely upon.
I found that no task was too trivial or mundane for Michelle and she always had a positive attitude about everything. She added to my mental well-being by relaying enough personal information about her family to make herself become a real, well-balanced human being. She went beyond my expectations and never failed to inquire about my pain levels, bodily needs, and overall comfort. This added greatly to my rapid improvement and hospital discharge.
On a more fundamental level, Michelle always ensured that everything I needed was within easy reach: telephone/call device; personal cell phone; drinking water; and even my preference for door opening and light levels. This is normally one of the most frustrating things to patients. Basically cardiac care patients are usually unable to continually take care of these matters for themselves, so I was impressed immediately by her concern for my personal comfort welfare.
In summary, I found Michelle to be a wonderful, caring, skilled, and knowledgeable nurse. She is certainly a role model for other nurses to emulate.
