Tonya was assigned to our mother and left a lasting imprint as a nurse. It’s with a big smile on my face that I tell you that every time Tonya left the room, I heard my mom say, “I just love her.” Checking blood sugar levels was much more entertaining when you guess the level with the patient and her son. Mom thought it would keep us interested in what her blood sugar levels were so we participated. What I can say about Tonya is that she had an ability to know if my mom was sad or happy and she adapted to meet her needs within seconds of entering the room and knew just what to say. She was our nursing angel and we were blessed to have met her!
