Zeena Omoruyi, BSN, RN
I would like to commend Ms. Zeena for the exceptional compassion and care she showed to my mother-in-law during her recent total hip replacement hospitalization. My mother-in-law does not like hospitals and was extremely nervous throughout the process, but Ms. Zeena immediately made her feel calm, safe, and cared for.
Ms. Zeena always took the time to explain everything in a way my mother-in-law could easily understand, never making her feel rushed or dismissed. One thing that truly stood out to me was how she would literally get down on her knees so she could be at the same eye level as my mother-in-law when explaining things to her. That simple but meaningful act showed so much patience, respect, and compassion. It made my mother-in-law feel heard, comfortable, and safe during a very vulnerable time.
What touched me even more was when Ms. Zeena also checked on me while my mother-in-law was in surgery. That level of kindness meant so much to our family. She treated us not just like patients and visitors, but people who genuinely mattered. You can tell she really loves her job, and she is born to be an awesome nurse!
Her professionalism, empathy, and dedication are exactly what nursing should be. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care she has provided, and I truly believe she deserves recognition through the DAISY Award.
