Zainab Abbas indeed possesses the qualities of a leader who embodies compassion and professionalism. She continuously acts as a good role model to everyone and inspires all of us to work and deliver the highest quality of care that we can give to our patients in the Group Practice Clinics, Primary care.

She values our suggestions and fosters a supportive working environment, wherein everyone feels respected. From day one of her being our manager, she implemented an open-door policy wherein she actively listened to one’s concerns. She does not say no immediately to staff requests and suggestions, but instead she carefully listens and tries to understand without judgment. When we voice concerns and problems, she always makes sure that she can find an answer or a possible solution so that the current problem can be rectified. Under her leadership, everyone feels valued and safe.

The working environment became better, and our unit has improved a lot through her leadership efforts and with the help of a happy and satisfied manpower, which can be shown through our unit's results. Our Nursing Quality Improvement outcomes have improved. The patient satisfaction as well as employee satisfaction has tremendously increased.

We felt that our area had become a happy place to work in. We feel like we have become a family that is working together, yet under pressure, with utmost care from a good leader. Everybody is equal, and not one is being left behind. She embodies and exemplifies the quality of a DAISY leader – dedicated to her work for improvement of Nursing Practice, compassionate, knowledgeable, and always ready to inspiration others.
