Zac is an incredibly thoughtful nurse, and I have seen him go out of his way time and time again for his patients. One example of this is one of our long-term patients, who went by J. Zac, took the time on his day off to go out and buy J a basketball hoop so that he had something to do when using his new stand-assist bed. Throughout J’s hospital stay, Zac has made multiple visits to different areas of the hospital to check in on J and show his support. J has been in the hospital for almost 6 months, and because of this, has become rather depressed, but when Zac visits, J seems to light up and is excited to see his buddy. J’s wife has only ever raved about the support and kindness that Zac has shown her and her husband, and I personally feel like this needs to be noticed. We need more nurses like Zac. He is an amazing example of empathy, compassion, and dedication to his patients.
