Yvonne Ortiz, RN, BSN

I would like to commend Yvonne Ortiz. Yvonne was my nurse when I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, and even six months later, I still think about the impact she had on me. She holds a very special place in my heart, and I can’t think of a better way to honor her than with such a prestigious award.

During labor, I reached a point where I felt completely exhausted and unsure if I could continue. Yvonne never left my side. She encouraged me, pushed me when I needed it most, and filled the room with constant words of affirmation and strength. She made me feel powerful at a moment when I felt at my weakest. Yvonne showed me that nursing is so much more than giving medication or starting IVs. She was my motivator, my support system, and my source of confidence during one of the most intense and meaningful moments of my life. Because of her compassion, dedication, and unwavering support, my birthing experience was one I will forever be grateful for. Yvonne truly embodies what it means to be an exceptional nurse, and she is more than deserving of the DAISY Award.
