Ms. Yvette stopped with her hands full with her breakfast and water. She asked if we needed help.
This nurse has such a compassionate and caring heart. My 9yr daughter, A, and I were at the hospital for a few appointments due to a new diagnosis and it was scary and we were lost trying to find where to go. My daughter was upset about having the test done and crying. Employees passed us by without even asking us if we needed help. Ms. Yvette stopped with her hands full with her breakfast and water. She asked if we needed help. I told her we were trying to find MRI for a test. Ms. Yvette looked at the paperwork and offered to take us to the test. On the way, she noticed my daughter was crying and asked her what was wrong. I told her she was scared to have the test done. Ms. Yvette stopped and talked with my daughter about the test and told her exactly what was going to happen during the test. She told my daughter that she needed to be very still and quiet so the test would go smoothly and be over quickly. My daughter stopped crying. Ms. Yvette took us to the test and then asked where we were going next. I told her to the Neuro doctor. Ms. Yvette said ok, I'll be back in about 1 hour to take you there. She also gave me her bottle of water and even sanitized it before she gave it to me. Now that's service!!
My daughter had her test and did well. Just as Ms. Yvette promised, she was back to help us to the next appointment. She brought my daughter some coloring pages and colors to help distract her while waiting for the doctor. She also brought me a little red book and a pen. She told me to use this book to write down my questions for the doctor and responses from the doctor to be able to remember later. Ms. Yvette said to bring this book every time we come so I can keep a journal. I was so grateful to her for taking the time to help me and my daughter through this stressful day. She made it easier to manage this day by the little bit of kindness and compassion she showed to us. I cannot thank Ms. Yvette enough for helping us that day.
