Yolanda Castillo, RN, BSN

I have been hospitalized on this unit four times over the last 18 months. During each admission, all staff members I interacted with treated me with respect and compassion. During my last two admissions, one nurse stood out. Her name is Yolanda Castillo. From day one, Yolanda made me feel like I was her top priority and that my concerns mattered. She always took extra time to make sure that I understood everything. I had a few scary things going on with my heart and defibrillator. I felt embarrassed and scared. Through it all, Yolanda showed so much compassion and empathy towards me. Yolanda repeatedly made sure the team caring for me was on the same page—same plan —and that I was understood and cared for. Yolanda consistently demonstrated knowledge, skill, empathy, competence, and compassion. I believe that if it were not for her, my hospitalization and discharge would not have been as thorough. I am so very appreciative of all the staff on Foreman Level 6!
