DAISY Award candidates are nurses who are known to demonstrate the utmost compassion and advocacy for both patients and coworkers. Yog exemplifies these qualities every time he is on duty. Recently, a patient's loved one wrote, "Yog went above and beyond to make my husband comfortable. Even if Yog was assigned to another floor, he would be sure to stop by and check in with us. When I had to leave for a little bit to take care of some errands, he stayed with my husband to make sure he was comfortable."

For another patient, Yog was assessing the patient who had a stent placement. Yog determined he just didn't seem "right". Yog assessed and reported to the physician. The physician determined there was no need for any further intervention. But Yog felt that nursing intuition; he escalated his concerns and initiated a Code STEMI. The patient ended up going in for a second catheterization procedure and other necessary invasive interventions, and came through these much-needed treatments beautifully and was ultimately discharged home. Yog's willingness to show compassion and his commitment to providing the best care possible make him a DAISY Honoree.
