Yessenia Acebedo, RN
Yessenia Acebedo, RN, Practice Coordinator, Labor and Delivery, was nominated for supporting a colleague with a challenging delivery.
The nominator was working with a patient who was attempting a vaginal delivery after having a previous C-section. After hours of pushing with little progress, both the patient and nominator were physically and mentally drained. Yessenia not only checked on the nominator but also stayed through the rest of the delivery, offering support and guidance that ultimately led to a successful delivery.
“Yessenia keeps everyone calm, reminds us that we’re capable even when we doubt ourselves, and leads with kindness, humility, and compassion,” says the nominator. “She makes our unit a better place not just because she is an exceptional charge nurse, but because she genuinely cares about her entire team. She creates an environment where nurses feel supported, valued, and never alone.”
