I would like to nominate this incredible nurse for the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary compassion, dedication, and commitment to patient-centered care. On her day off, she voluntarily came into the hospital to serve as a Spanish translator for a patient in the operating room. Her presence brought immense comfort and reassurance to a patient who otherwise would have faced a frightening and isolating experience due to the language barrier. By taking the time to ensure clear communication and emotional support, she went far above and beyond her duties. Her kindness, cultural sensitivity, and selflessness exemplify the very best of nursing. She not only helped facilitate a safe and successful procedure but also upheld the patient's dignity and made them feel seen, heard, and cared for during a vulnerable moment. Her actions are a true reflection of what it means to be a DAISY nurse. She is an inspiration to her colleagues and a shining example of the compassionate care our patients deserve.
