William Chou, RN
I would like to nominate William for a DAISY Award for the exceptional care and compassion he showed me during a very difficult time. I was admitted to the hospital and knew I would be staying throughout the week. Being in the hospital during that time was already overwhelming, and with my birthday falling during that time, I felt especially emotional and discouraged. I had recently undergone surgery to have a feeding tube placed, which left me feeling physically uncomfortable and mentally overwhelmed.
William has been my nurse for three nights, and throughout each of those nights, he went above and beyond to make sure I felt safe, comfortable, and cared for. He was always attentive to my needs, checked on me frequently, and made sure my pain was managed so I could rest. His kindness and reassurance made a huge difference in how I coped with everything I was going through. What meant the most to me was the following day when William came in with his colleagues and surprised me by singing “Happy Birthday.” That small but incredibly thoughtful gesture lifted my spirits more than I can express. In a moment when I felt vulnerable and far from normal life, he helped me feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for. William didn’t just provide excellent clinical care; he provided emotional support, compassion, and humanity. He turned a very hard experience into something meaningful, and I will never forget the impact he had on me.

William has been a part of the 7D team since 2022. He is hard-working, compassionate, caring, and a team player who is always willing to help his co-workers and will pick up extra shifts when needed. He is truly deserving of this Award, and we are so glad that he is a part of the 7D family.
