Whitney always goes above and beyond as a NICU nurse. We recently had a very sick baby in the NICU and the parents were very concerned and fearful. Whitney was very informative and communicated the baby’s condition to the parents so they could easily understand. She also offered to pray with them. The mom was very touched by this and said that this act of kindness demonstrated why she chose to have her baby at a faith-based hospital and also gave her confidence of leaving her sick baby in the hands of the nurses taking care of her. Whitney also took initiative and asked for permission to hang a picture of Saint Philomena, the patron saint of infants, babies, and youth, in the NICU. Whitney is an amazing NICU RN at Christus Ochsner Lake Area and is always willing to precept nursing students or new associates. She takes pride in her job and it shows. She truly was called to be a NICU nurse.
