My husband had been hospitalized numerous times for aggressive brain cancer. My family was distraught going into the CTICU, having known that they had not been able to remove the entire glioblastoma. Wendy not only comforted my husband and made him smile and laugh, but also made sure I was okay. We grew closer as the days went on, and I saw my husband's light come back.
Unfortunately, after he was discharged, Wendy and I crossed paths at the hospital yet again when my husband was re-hospitalized. She saw my son and me in the waiting room, and she didn't hesitate to check on us, even though he was no longer her patient. Her caring nature and thoughtfulnessare extraoridinary.
