My grandfather has stage four cancer in his lungs and pancreas. He had an accident at home that led us to take him to the emergency room. Wendy was a nurse working in the emergency department, but she was not our nurse. When Wendy heard that my grandfather had pancreatic cancer, Wendy came into his room. She shared her story of her father, who suffered from pancreatic cancer and had recently passed away. She sat with us for a long time and listened as we shared stories of grandpa. She offered support and helped us to calm down during an emotional and stressful situation. Wendy was such an amazing support who made a huge difference in our visit. I cannot express enough how thankful we were to have her support and how much of a difference her words made.
