Viviana Komlodi, RN
I would like to recognize Viviana, our nurse, for the extraordinary care she provided to my son during a time when his medical needs felt overwhelming. Our son has a high level of medical complexity, and when concerns arose about his breathing after his seizure, she stepped in with both clinical excellence and genuine compassion.
She approached his care with such attentiveness, always taking the time to assess, listen, and respond thoughtfully while also being so prepared for anything that could arise. What stood out most was not just her skill, but the calm and reassuring presence she brought into the room. In moments that could have felt frightening, she made us feel safe and supported.
As a mother, I often carry the weight of advocating and making the right decisions for my child. She didn’t just care for my son; she cared for me, too. She took the time to talk things through with me, helping me better understand his needs and empowering me with ideas and strategies to improve his quality of care.
She never made me feel rushed or dismissed; instead, she treated me as an important part of my son’s care team. Her kindness, patience, and dedication made a lasting impact on me.
She embodies everything the DAISY Award represents: clinical excellence, compassion, and a deep commitment to her patients and their families. I am incredibly grateful for the care she provided and the difference she made in our lives.
