Virginia Seno is associate professor for Chamberlain College of Nursing 's Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) online degree program. She brings 35 years of clinical, executive and academic experience to her role. 
In executive roles, Seno initiated, developed and directed both hospital and community based home care and hospice agencies, directing the growth of these agencies from grass roots to flourishing, while serving on local and state the Boards for these services. 
In academia, Seno has held faculty positions at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northern Illinois University and Alverno College, teaching community heath, theory, research and philosophy. 
Dr. Seno 's research and practice is dedicated to improving communication between health care providers and patients and families facing end-of-life decisions. Her clinical work with families and their dying members has led to multiple publications for clinicians and lay people alike including Mini Courses: "Mastering the Listening Self: Personal Growth Through End-Of-Life Encounters" and "Right Choice For You: A Menu of Questions For Your Critical Care Decisions". Currently she 's developed and delivering a Project ECHO clinic entitled "Practitioner Presence Improving End-of-Life Communication".
