Her calm presence and warm smiles made a difficult time feel less overwhelming.
As a family member, one worries about the bedside care of their relative in an inpatient ward. From the very first day, Vilma treated my dad not just as a patient but as a whole person with dignity, empathy, and patience. She took the time to explain procedures and medications in ways that comforted and reassured our family. Her calm presence and warm smiles made a difficult time feel less overwhelming.
What truly stood out was her compliance with clinical protocols, attentiveness, not just to clinical needs, but to emotional ones. When my dad was in pain, she always knew the right words to say or the gentle gesture that brought him peace. Even in the busiest moments, she’d drop in to check on him and never made us feel like a burden. The compassion extended not just to my father, but to every family member who came to visit.
One moment I’ll never forget is when she noticed how my dad’s demeanor had significantly improved after a couple of days, and she teared up in joy. That act reminded us that nursing is truly a calling, not just a profession.
She reminded us of the power of human connection. My family will always be grateful for the difference she made during one of the most challenging times in our lives.
