Her presence was a source of comfort during a deeply distressing time, and her empathetic approach made an immeasurable difference to us.
I would like to nominate Viktoria in recognition of her exceptional care, professionalism, and profound compassion. She looked after my father during his final days on the stroke unit, and the kindness, dignity, and respect with which she treated him were truly remarkable.
Losing a loved one is an immensely difficult experience. Her unwavering dedication ensured that my father’s final days were as peaceful and comfortable as possible. She treated him not merely as a patient, but as a person, with patience, warmth, and a genuine sense of humanity that brought great solace to both him and our family.
In particular, I vividly recall the moment when my father’s condition began to decline. Viktoria was not only incredibly skilled in managing his medical needs, but she also showed a level of empathy and emotional intelligence that went above and beyond for such a young nurse. She took the time to sit with him when he could no longer communicate, holding his hand and quietly speaking to him in soothing tones. She reassured us, as a family, that he was at peace and comfortable, and that we could be assured of his dignity until the very end.
Her attention to detail was extraordinary. She ensured that he was never in pain, and she created a calm, serene atmosphere in the room, even when the circumstances were so distressing for us all. Viktoria never once rushed, always treating my father as an individual rather than just a patient. Her actions allowed us to cherish those final moments with him, and she made a painful situation far more bearable.
Her presence was a source of comfort during a deeply distressing time, and her empathetic approach made an immeasurable difference to us. She exemplifies the very best of nursing: skill, kindness, and an innate ability to bring dignity to those in their most vulnerable moments. I will forever be grateful for the extraordinary care she provided, and I can think of no one more deserving of this recognition.
