My father-in-law was admitted and moved from ED to MICU to 4N on comfort care. For most of the time, my mother-in-law and I were alone in the room, and I was trying to coordinate with the whole family. Tori made that so much easier by sitting with us to explain the situation exactly and what to expect. She was factual and realistic while also showing great empathy.

When I was alone and in distress, she chatted with me. We talked about kids, mental health, and our stories about being responders. To have her as a friend right then was a lifesaver. She stepped in immediately when I was crying too hard to push my mother-in-law’s wheelchair during the honor walk. Her instincts, her knowledge, and her compassion are incredible. She even got onto me for not sleeping. For those two nights, Tori was part of our family, and she will not be forgotten. Eternally grateful!
