Her demeanor always remains positive and relaxed, which carried over to us and put us at ease.
Our twin girls arrived unexpectedly at 34 weeks. We are first-time parents, which added to the stress of being in the NICU. G and Victoria were the first nurses who took over care of our girls when we arrived in the NICU. I will never forget all of the feelings and emotions running through my brain as I watched two separate teams work on our girls and give report upon their arrival from the delivery room to their NICU room. It was scary seeing them on breathing support and so many wires and tubes connected to them. Victoria is SO knowledgeable. She has the ability to remain calm and collected, even in the most stressful situations. Her demeanor always remains positive and relaxed, which carried over to us and put us at ease. Victoria became the primary nurse for our girls after a few weeks, although she frequently was the charge nurse and not assigned to them. This didn't stop her from "caring" for them and making sure we were okay. She would often pop in their room to say hello and check in, and let us know that she was charging, but we could reach out if we needed anything. She was always working with G on "crafts" and projects for the babies, which are such a blessing and bright spot on days that are long, repetitive, and exhausting. She reassured us that our girls were doing amazing and progressing, even when we couldn't see the progress or it felt so small. As I said in the nomination for her coworker G, our time in the NICU would have been completely different had these two not set the tone and been our saving graces when we arrived. We got so lucky that we landed in their care, and we will never ever forget the important role they played in the lives of our family. There's nobody more deserving of this recognition than Victoria.
