She went out of her way to make us feel supported and to offer us mementos that we were comfortable with.
I first had Tori as my nurse two weeks ago when I experienced a threatened miscarriage at 13 weeks and was admitted for monitoring. At that time, I really appreciated her phenomenal bedside manner, her preemptive explanations/answers to questions before I asked them, and her innate ability to care for me in the best ways, based not just on medical need but on personal comfort. Imagine my relief when, readmitted yesterday for a miscarriage at 15 weeks, Tori met me in the hall as I was transferred from the ER to L&D. She immediately remembered me and greeted me with appropriate warmth given the circumstances.

During this visit, inevitably more sensitive than the last, Tori rose above and beyond in her work. She again balanced comforting myself and my husband in our grief with care and promptness in doing her duty as a medical professional. She never wavered from this a single time. I felt safe as a patient in her care. She explained all medications, procedures, and waivers in detail until I fully understood each one. She innately balanced rest and privacy with medical care. She also honored our sweet baby with great care, following our lead on what we were comfortable with. She never pushed for any outcome but offered choices and options. She went out of her way to make us feel supported and to offer us mementos that we were comfortable with. In such a hard time, I am so grateful for the ways Tori cared for me. I can only imagine how far-reaching her impact is.
