Victoria Carney, RN, BSN
Victoria Carney happened to be one of the first nurses we met when my husband was admitted for intensive chemotherapy. In a hospital full of outstanding nurses, Victoria distinguished herself by her warmth and concern. She was consistently warm, cheerful, and competent.
Finally cleared to go home after more than five weeks in the hospital, my husband felt faint in the elevator with Victoria and our son. She guided him right back up to his room for yet another night in the hospital. She was very sympathetic with our frustration and was kind beyond our expectations. She seemed to make a personal commitment to provide encouragement and facilitate our efforts to have the doctors reconsider their requirement of one more night in the hospital.
As I write this, we are waiting for the return of the attending. Regardless of the outcome, Victoria earned a very special place in our hearts.
