She has set an amazing example of dedication and thoughtfulness regarding the job we do and the patients that we care for.
Vicki has worked at St. Francis for 43 years with 41 years in our OR! Vicki displays the HSHS core values of Respect, Care, Competence, and Joy, with all of her being, daily.
Respect- Vicki displays this core value by giving 110% (after all of these years!) every day to her patients and our surgical team. Our staff and doctors respect her and all the knowledge she possesses. She willingly teaches and shares this knowledge with her fellow employees. Vicki respectfully mentors all in the OR daily. She has shown great patience and kindness while thoughtfully guiding us in surgery.
Care- Vicki gives all of herself to her job. She cares immensely! You will find that Vicki is the first one here, preparing for the day. She will be the last one to leave, as she prepares for the next day. She will be the last one to take a break, if you can talk her into one. She has set an amazing example of dedication and thoughtfulness regarding the job we do and the patients that we care for.
Competence- You will often hear one of us say, “Go ask Vicki,” or “Go get Vicki.” She and her experience and her knowledge will be sorely missed. If we are getting a new surgeon or new equipment, you will find Vicki looking through equipment catalogs and doing research on the upcoming surgery to become familiar with it, to increase her knowledge, and to be ready! Vicki also maintains her certification for surgery.
Joy- Vicki displays joy as she happily tells old stories, and often has us laughing at her humor. I believe she finds joy in her work! Vicki could have probably retired a few years ago but she is here, joyfully continuing to serve and absolutely putting everything she has into every moment that she is here. I am uncertain where she gets her energy, because she is consistently working from clock in to clock out! There aren’t many Vicki’s anymore, and she deserves every accolade.
