She has been super professional in every aspect of her job. She always smiles & was constantly checking on me, ensuring I was comfortable. She is without a doubt a superior individual & deserves special recognition. Super sweet lady & very prompt.

Velisa was very patient and gentle with our elderly mom. She was also very kind to the entire family and answered our questions with patience and compassion. Hendricks needs more employees like Velisa.

Velisa is the purest example of someone who got into nursing because she truly cares and has a heart for helping others. Spending so many days in the hospital with my mom, I noticed the unfortunate reality that some employees simply don’t enjoy their work—Velisa is not that employee. She comes to work with a warm heart, an open mind. She never made us as a family feel like we were in the way. She was always welcoming, encouraging, and took the time to educate us, as this was our first time in a SNF setting, and most days had no idea what was expected of us as family. She made sure to find us answers even if they were from another educator or professional. She is very thorough with her job and her explanation to both patient and family. This was so appreciated because, unfortunately, not everyone took the time to keep us family members in the loop. I hope that if I ever need nursing care, I have someone like Velisa on my team. Her unit is so fortunate to have her as an example.
