When I first came into my room, I was throwing up every 15 minutes, and Vashti was fabulous with helping me feel better. She was one of the best nurses I’ve ever had, and I just can’t believe I was fortunate enough to have her as my nurse.

My condition is such that I cannot walk without a walker and help from a nurse. Vashti was always there to help and encourage me to do my best whenever I had to move around the room. She even shared personal experiences with me. Always kind and caring. She even told me I was one of her favorite patients, and that really lifted my spirits.

Vashti went far above and beyond during my cancer treatment and hospital stay. During one of the most vulnerable and difficult times of my life, she consistently showed compassion, kindness, and genuine care.
One moment that stands out deeply to me was when she helped me shave my head. What could have been a heartbreaking experience became a beautiful and meaningful memory because of her tenderness, patience, and emotional support. She made me feel seen, respected, and cared for as a person-not just a patient. We laughed and listened to music and made it such a positive moment.
Throughout my stay, she attended to my every need, including the messy and uncomfortable aspects of care, always with dignity, kindness, and without judgment. Her presence brought comfort and calm during moments of fear and uncertainty. She was not only an exceptional nurse but a source of strength and reassurance when I needed it most.
To me, she was truly an angel, both a nurse and a friend. Her compassion made an immeasurable difference in my healing journey, and I will always be grateful for the care she provided. She represents the very best of nursing and is more than deserving of this recognition."
