Vanessa cared for him the way you would hope someone would care for your own family member. Because of her, my father felt calmer, safer, and more at peace during very difficult nights.
I would like to submit a compliment for one of the nurses who took care of my father. My father has been hospitalized and has had some moments of confusion, anxiety and agitation. During these times, Vanessa has shown a level of care and patience that goes far beyond basic nursing duties.
I want her to be recognized for the compassion they have brought into my father’s care. She didn’t just administer treatment but saw him as the person he is. Vanessa fed him his pills, gently cleaned his mouth each time so he wouldn’t feel embarrassed or uncomfortable, applied his eye drops, and carefully wiped his eyes when they were irritated, moved him when he slid down in the bed, and checked him repeatedly when he coughed.
During the times he became confused, pulling at his IV or lines, she handled the situation with calmness and empathy, taking steps to secure the line away from him that protected it and him without him feeling restrained, speaking to him with respect and warmth. Not once did this nurse rush him, not once did this nurse show frustration.
Vanessa cared for him the way you would hope someone would care for your own family member. Because of her, my father felt calmer, safer, and more at peace during very difficult nights. And as a family member, we felt supported and seen.
She deserves this recognition for their exceptional compassion, professionalism, and humanity, as they truly made a difference.
