Now, he was crying to Valeria, scared for his life, and she reassured him that he was under the best care possible.
On Monday, my dad called me to tell me that he was going to the emergency room for stroke-like symptoms. About an hour later, he informed me that it was not a stroke, but a CT scan confirming a 3.7 x 3.3 CM tumor located in his brain. My husband and I immediately drove down to be by his side, as the doctors recommended, to the University of Miami to be seen by Dr. K.
From the moment we stepped into the hospital, I knew that God guided us there. Every single person we came across was the brightest light during the absolute darkest week. One of his nurses - Valeria - is around my age, and I could tell my dad found comfort in her. My dad is a man who only shed some tears on my wedding day. Now, he was crying to Valeria, scared for his life, and she reassured him that he was under the best care possible. She gave us comfort, grace, and most of all hope. If I could write a thousand reviews about Valeria and the Neuro ICU team, I would. The care and experience were truly nothing I have ever seen before, and I am so thankful that my dad was sent to them.
