"I was already in tears going into the CT scan room for a biopsy for a cancer I already knew I had. The fear slowly started to fade when my nurse came in and let me know they would be with me throughout the entire procedure.
Tyler Harrison explained what was going to happen, reassured me when I felt helpless, kept me comfortable with medication, and even made jokes to help ease my fear. Most importantly, they talked to me as a human being, not just a patient.
The peace of mind Tyler gave me was everything I needed in that moment, and it is something I will forever remember.
Even though what they did may have seemed small, it meant everything to me. They gave me hope that there are nurses who genuinely want to help, and they absolutely deserve this award.”
