I was a patient at Redlands Community Hospital for six days during my pregnancy journey. After delivering my baby girl, I was transferred to the postpartum ward, where I met Trisha, the charge nurse on duty. While charge nurses typically have limited direct interaction with patients, staffing shortages at the time gave me the chance to connect with Trisha in a more personal way.

Over the next three and a half days, Trisha provided continuous care for both me and my newborn. Even after the full postpartum nursing team was back in place, she continued to check in on us regularly. Trisha exemplifies what it means to deliver exceptional patient care. She went above and beyond to make sure my hospital stay was comfortable and stress-free, offering thoughtful guidance as my husband and I learned to care for our baby. She patiently showed us how to swaddle our daughter, offered advice and demonstrations on breastfeeding techniques, and shared a variety of helpful tips for newborn care. What stood out most was Trisha’s unwavering dedication; she even came by to visit us while working off the hospital floor.

As we were being discharged, she made a special effort to stop by our room one last time to say goodbye and wish us well, cheerfully saying she looked forward to seeing us again in two years. Her warmth, compassion, and genuine love for her work left a lasting impression on our family.
