She wasn’t just focused on my body issues, but rather my mind, body, and spirit.
Trisha was wonderful. She took the time to explain the things I should and shouldn’t be doing post-op. It wasn’t only the information she gave me, but also how she truly cares. She took out extra time from her super busy day just to sit and talk to me. She wasn’t just focused on my body issues, but rather my mind, body, and spirit. She has been amazingly encouraging throughout my pain, tears, and triumphs. She motivated me in so many ways. I just can’t fully convey what having her as my nurse has done for my level of care. My entire post-surgical success is largely due to her. I can’t thank her enough for her incredibly awesome bedside manner. Even when my pain meds are due, she gently encourages me to wait as long as possible to hold off so that my stay in the hospital won’t be longer because I’d still be on IV meds. She has a gentleness, kindness, and personality that instantly puts you at ease and makes you not only like her but fully trust her with your care. She even took time from her nonstop busy schedule to stand and listen to me talk about what I was going through emotionally. If there were more nurses like her, it would immensely improve the quality of your staff. I was terrified to have the surgery, but her being there during the aftermath has been nothing but a godsend. Please give her a raise, or even have her train new nurse interns. Please do whatever you do to recognize such an amazingly talented, capable, hard-working saint – basically whatever you do for a rockstar nurse such as Trisha – please do it because there isn’t a nurse more deserving.

Trisha was kind and eager to help. She made things work in S’s complicated case involving Ehlers-Danlos hypermobile joints, POTS, newly diagnosed gastroparesis, and ongoing seizures more smoothly than on other days. When S’s ability to take deep breaths was compromised by pain and a sore rib after a particularly bad set of seizures, Trisha obtained permission to increase S’s oxygen percentage quickly and efficiently. After giving the medicine to address one particularly tough seizure, Trisha stayed by S’s side to hold her hand and be present until S was free of the seizure effects. Trisha maintained this intense care with warmth and speed over a day where S had 4-5 seizures over the 12-hour shift. Thank you!

I am nominating Trisha for her compassion and hard work. I was in pain, and Trisha went above and beyond to make sure I had my pain medication. She went down to the pharmacy to pick it up. She checked on me more than every hour and assisted me. She is a nurse who helps her team, and it shows in her actions by providing care to her patients. Whenever I was assigned to Trisha, I was comfortable. And even though I have been in the hospital for a month, she encouraged me to never lose sight of the ultimate goal and to reward myself for the baby steps I am accomplishing. I just want Trisha to know how much I appreciate the care she provided me while being in the hospital. Trisha, I am forever grateful.

I’m a Harvard graduate in healthcare. Also, I’m familiar with the nursing functions. When I evaluated Ms. Trisha, I took into consideration that I’m now 93 years old, and for her to serve me, it must take a lot of time from her, and she must have great experience and patience, and this is what I noticed from her. She was looking after me several times during daytime and she gave me the medication at the proper time after explaining each one. I can see that her behavior and attitude are superior. She is also helping with my meals, and she was cleaning me with compassion.
