Tracy was approached by a patient’s husband in pre-op asking about a CPM machine after surgery. A CPM machine is not something we have in the hospital, nor do we have information on how to receive one. It was discovered the insurance denied the request from ortho, however, the patient was willing to pay out of pocket for it. After much research, Tracy went out of her way to find the vendor. She located one number and was then provided additional numbers to help locate the vendor representative that covers the Tappahannock area. A few hours passed by, and no return phone call from the vendor rep. Tracy then faxed a message over to the vendor rep asking for them to call her. The message finally reached the vendor rep, and he returned her call. Tracy explained the situation, and the vendor rep was able to locate an available CPM machine, set up a delivery time, and give the patient a pro-rated cost. The patient and the patient’s husband were very grateful for Tracy’s time and the efforts she put into helping enhance the patient's recovery after her procedure.
