Mrs. Tonya has been a rock for me through one of the hardest points in my life. The day I started chemo is a day that will forever be burned into my memory. The fear of the unknown, mixed with sadness and anger, was overshadowed by the patience, love, and gentle demeanor of my nurse that day. I will forever be grateful to her for being the beautiful and kind soul who took the time to reassure and comfort a stranger. What she didn't know was that she became a face I looked for when I came for treatments. Just seeing her and saying hello would remind me of her kind words from the first day and alleviate my fears.
