Tonjula Hill, RN

I have learned so much from working with Tonjula. She cares about the children, which, in reflection, causes me to notice ways I can improve my job. She has a routine that is flexible yet easy to follow. I see her work with the children, giving direct eye contact and is quick to respond to their request within reason.

Safety is a high priority, and even when it feels overwhelming, I feel she creates a team effort to reach our goals. Tonjula goes beyond her job to help her staff. She is never too busy, and when she is, she still makes time. She is very efficient and always makes sure the job is done correctly. Even though nurses don’t have to do rounds, every shift I have worked with her, she still does it. I love her personality and her work ethic; she is the number one example of being a leader!

Tonjula is always cheerful and helpful. She is great to work with. Tonjula has such a kind spirit; she goes above and beyond during her shift. Standing in to sit with patients when short-staffed, ensuring the patients are comforted along with staff. Always has a bright smile, and it’s so appreciated!

Nurse Hill is an exceptional nurse. She is great at assisting patients with anything. She is loved all over the hospital. Any unit Nurse Hill works on is always blessed. I’m always willing to learn from her. She has great patience and de-escalation skills, processing skills, and is just an overall great nurse and person you could ever encounter.

Nurse Hill is a team player, a supporter, a good listener, reliable, cheerful, a leader, and someone who goes above and beyond. She stays until the work is completed. She protects her patients and co-workers at all times. Working with her has made me a better worker. There are none like her.

She always has a smile and friendly attitude when she comes to work. She stayed over on one shift this summer to prepare the adolescent unit for the day on a busy Saturday. She got all the patients up and AM care done, took them to breakfast herself, did morning med pass, and asked MHT’s and peers from other units how she could help on a very busy Saturday.

Above all the task work, staying over and offering assistance, what stood out to me was her positivity. She has an infectious grin and laughter and shares a hug with staff when welcomed. Every individual she encountered got the friendly kind nurse they needed and would never know she had just worked over her shift overnight!
