It was a particularly busy day, and a heavy floor, 22 total care patients on the floor. A patient needed help being transported back from US with a heparin drip. All staff were very busy and overwhelmed. Tina went down and got the patient, and then followed up with the patient on her many questions and concerns. That is 1 example of how Tina goes above and beyond for 4p staff and patients.

I have worked with Tina Martin for the last 11 years. First as peer, she then became CC, and now nurse manager. Tina is an exceptional leader. Her dedication to patient care and staff wellbeing is admirable. When we are short-staffed, no PCA. Tina will go to the desk and answer phones. Tina will help a patient who is calling with needs, will take them to the bathroom, give meds. Whatever she can do to help. Tina has been a mentor to me, helping me foster my leadership and mentor skills. She has supported and encouraged me, she believes in me, and she pushes me to strive for excellence. I am now med-surg certified and have applied for Clin 3 and am a clinical nurse preceptor and the 4p/4s mentor with Tina's recommendation and encouragement. Tina has high standards for patient care and goes above and beyond to improve patients' safety and outcomes. Tina cares about her staff, advocates for them, and encourages them. Tina has been an instrumental force in my career, and I am truly grateful for her leadership and support.
