My mother worried and stressed about my dad, and, unable to visit him, was placed in a wheelchair by Tim, and he brought her to the ICU to visit with my dad.
Both of my parents were recently patients at MMC. My father was critically ill in ICU and passed this past Monday. My mother, admitted for an SBO and subsequent resection, was admitted to R5. My father deteriorated quickly and went from acute ICU to comfort care in SCU. This all happening while my mother was recovering across the hospital and having her own complications. Tim was one of the nurses caring for my mother, and he really stood out to her and the rest of the family for his kindness and compassion towards her and visiting family members. One moment really stood out; my mother worried and stressed about my dad, and, unable to visit him, was placed in a wheelchair by Tim, and he brought her to the ICU to visit with my dad. My mom was relieved of much of her stress and my parents were able to see each other before he passed several days later. This act of kindness made an incredible impression on all of us. Tim is a true embodiment of the nursing profession, making a difference by caring for both patients and their families. MMC is truly fortunate to have Tim on their team.
