Tim Boehr, BSN, RN

I would like to recognize Tim for the extraordinary compassion and exceptional care he provided to a young adult beginning one of the most difficult journeys of his life.

This patient was going through detox and facing the uncertainty of rehabilitation and recovery. During a time when he was vulnerable, frightened, and in need of genuine human connection, Tim went far beyond providing excellent clinical care. He took the time to sit down beside the patient and have a long, meaningful conversation. He listened without judgment, offered encouragement, and treated him with dignity, respect, and kindness.

Rather than seeing only a diagnosis or circumstance, Tim saw a person who needed hope. His calm presence, empathy, and unwavering support helped the patient feel heard, valued, and understood during an incredibly challenging moment. The compassion he demonstrated reminded the patient that recovery was possible and that he was worthy of care and respect.

Nurses have countless responsibilities, yet Tim chose to invest his time and heart in making a lasting difference in someone's life. His actions exemplify the very essence of nursing, providing not only skilled medical care but also comfort, encouragement, and humanity when patients need it most.

For his exceptional compassion, nonjudgmental approach, and profound impact on a patient beginning the road to recovery, I believe Tim is truly deserving of the DAISY Award.
