Tiffany has been orienting in the ICU and has demonstrated great compassion and empathy with patients and families who have at times been challenging to work with. Even through the stressors of learning the ins and outs of ICU nursing practices, she has been able to keep sight of the importance of caring for the patient as a whole and not just the problem at hand. It has been inspiring to watch and has positively impacted the coworker to also strive to do the same.

Despite a patient’s decision to leave AMA they were still able to recognize Tiffany’s great care, give positive remarks. In this situation, she was also able to convince the patient to at the very least wait for morning lab results, take important medication post-neuro-IR interventions, and schedule a follow-up visit.

Tiffany also cared for a patient who was very unstable and ultimately went on hospice. Tiffany became a trusted face and support for not just the patient but the family as well. They spoke highly of her, and she left such a great impact that the family came back and thanked her and the rest of the ICU team after the patient had passed. The patient’s son said that Tiffany’s care has truly changed his perspective from anything negative he heard in the community.
