Tiffany had a patient admitted to the med/surg unit at BHWC. The patient's family member began to complain of left-sided pain under his arm, which alerted Tiffany to investigate further. After recognizing the patient's family member wasn't looking well, she urged him to sit in a wheelchair and called a rapid response.

The family member ended up having a cardiac arrest in the elevator on the way to the emergency department and was resuscitated successfully thanks to the initiation of the rapid response by Tiffany. Had her clinical intuition not been as adept as it was, the response time would have been delayed and the outcome could have been far worse. Tiffany saved the family member's life because of her excellent and compassionate care that extended beyond just her patient.

Thanks to Tiffany's quick actions, the family member was stabilized, and air flighted where he received a cardiac stent and had a good prognosis to recover. Tiffany deserves this recognition because of her dedication to excellent and compassionate care that goes beyond just caring for patients and also includes their families.
