Verde Valley Medical Center has recently initiated a new program offering plasmapheresis to our patients within our Dialysis scope of service. Our first patient was extremely ill and was housed in our ICU. During this time, the dialysis census of HD patients was also high throughout the week and the weekend. Tiffany went above and beyond by staying for extended hours during that time, training on plasmapheresis in addition to providing dialysis care to all our in-house renal patients.

After her orientation, Tiffany continued to provide this therapy for this very ill patient throughout the weekend and into the following week. Despite the added workload of providing plasmapheresis for this patient on top of the HD census, Tiffany never once complained. Her attitude was that she was "all in" to ensure this patient and all our other renal patients received care. Tiffany spent considerable time with this patient and their family during a very challenging time; I witnessed Tiffany not only providing expert-level care while delivering this new therapy, but also connecting with the patient and family. She supported them through one of the most difficult times in their lives, offering comfort, taking the time to explain care, ensuring their needs were met, and being inclusive about everything happening in the patient's room.

When treatment concluded for this patient after many long days of working her shifts and call hours each evening, Tiffany came in on her days off to assist our lead dialysis RN in running patients when the HD census again started to rise. Tiffany is deserving of a DAISY Award not only for her dedication to her team, but also for the dedication and compassion she shows to our patients in our community.
